Annie (played by Lindsay Lohan) and Hallie (also played by Lindsay Lohan) are two little girls who meet at summer camp. They are astonishingly similar in appearance, yet they do not get along at all. By chance, they discover that they are actually twin sisters. They start asking about each other’s lives and discussing their parents: they met on a luxury cruise ship and got married during the trip, but ultimately their relationship fell apart. Because of this divorce, one twin goes with their father (played by Dennis Quaid) to California, living in a beautiful vineyard; the other goes with their wedding dress designer mother (played by Natasha Richardson) to London. Thus, they have never met and don't even know of each other's existence. Upon learning this truth, the two mischievous girls begin to devise a plan: they decide to switch identities and live in each other’s families. Everything goes smoothly until their father decides to remarry, leading to a crazy battle against their stepmother (played by Elaine Hendrix)... This film is a remake of the 1961 American movie 'The Parent Trap'. At just 11 years old, Lindsay Lohan won the 1999 American 'Young Artist Award' for Best Young Actress for her dual role in the film.
