《Mainland China horror Masterpiece
Directed by: Wang Qing
Synopsis:
On a stormy night, a wandering suona player, a traveling merchant with a shoulder pole, a gloomy and eerie fairy, an upright sheriff, a ruthless thief, a wealthy shopkeeper, an enchanting noblewoman, and a taciturn coachman—eight individuals of different identities gathered in a decrepit temple in the wilderness to seek shelter from the rain. The long night loomed, and with nothing to do, someone casually started a conversation about the chilling legend of the water ghost bride known by everyone under the Baisha Bridge in the nearby town. As midnight approached, the atmosphere grew increasingly eerie, and strange occurrences began to unfold, leading them to believe that she had returned. The water ghost was seeking revenge, and the bride was claiming lives; the curse from many years ago was finally coming true, and one by one, the people in the temple met bizarre deaths. It turned out that these individuals, whether greedy, lustful, hypocritical, or cowardly, were all intricately linked to the tragic incident involving the Chen family and the water ghost bride.
